WEP/GPO Lobby Day

Washington, D.C. and Local District Offices
CalRTA is sponsoring a Federal Lobby Day to take our fight for Social Security fairness and solvency directly to Washington, D.C. and district offices. There are multiple bills in the 114th Congress that could create an impact:
H.R. 973 (Davis – IL) – Would repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO). (As of 2-17-15 there are 20 California Representative co-sponsors out of the possible 49. Click HERE for the most current list.)
H.R. 711 (Brady – TX) – In an important step toward addressing the inequity caused by the WEP.
Washington, D.C. Hotel and Meeting Space:

Reservations: (703) 845-1010 Room rates are $175 single/double plus applicable taxes.
The hotel is near Reagan National Airport and supplies a free shuttle to/from the airport and the Metro Station. Shuttle accessed through doors #5 and #9 in baggage claim, every 20-25 minutes.

Here are some hints to assist you:
Petitions for WEP / GPO Repeal
The signed petitions will be delivered both locally and in Washington, D.C. Using photo copies, send the original (if possible) to the CalRTA office* by April 1st and keep a copy for the local district office. Assemble the petitions with the other leave-behind materials.
