In 1929, CalRTA was founded because Laura E. Settle and a group of retired educators “took action.” They banded together and set out to improve pensions for colleagues who were living in poverty after a lifetime of teaching.

Today CalRTA is still characterized by its grassroots activism.  Through this Website you can find and contact your legislator, monitor legislation and discover how the CalRTA PAC is working for you.
